Each pupil receives the name of an exsiting child in Nepal, Brazil or South Africa. Every child has a “course of life booklet” which tells the story of the child step by step. Depending on what happens in the life of the child, he can either end up at school or working for money. Every 5 min. the pupil can turn over the page of the course of life book and read what happens in her/his life....after which the pupil goes or to the school part or the working part.

In the school part, Sister “Emanuelle” takes care of the necessary pleasant atmosphere and the pupils can continue their school career by doing various fun work pages adapted to their age. As soon as the packet of lessons is sucessfully finished the pupil goes up the school ladder. Whoever finishes the school ladder (grade 6) can give lessons in the school part.

In the working section, Brazilian children clean shoes with a tooth brush, Nepalese children weave material from pieces of wool and South African children make bracelets with beads and safety pins. It is not easy working in the workshops and the supervisors pay very little for the work done. The pupils realise that the world is not perfect and that not everyone has the same chance to go to school.

Suddenly in the life of a few children help arrives from some Belgium donors, which enables them to go to school. They start to realise that life can suddenly change through help from outside.

During the conclusions the pupils get the chance to vent their frustrations over the injustice they feel. It is also explained that getting 6th grade has nothing to do with their own “abilities”, but is fixed by the life of a third world child

3. Conclusion of the countries

Conclusion per country –(10 min per country + 10 min for the puzzle)

Cunina naar school

Through the use of an inflatable globe the home countries of the children who participated in the reality game are looked up. The pupils also present the children they represented.

Then around 30 photos of the children in typical third world situations are laid on the floor Each pupil chooses a photo that he/she associates with his/her course of life and says a few words about it.

In conclusion a puzzle is put together by the pupils…..this puzzle is in the form of a cradle with the various projects of CUNINA in the 3 partner countries that have been discussed. The cradle is explained (CUNINA = goddess of the cradle, with underneath the thought that the place where your cradle is, determines your chances in life)
A short discussion on what CUNINA does to help obtain the 2nd Millennium objective (returning to the beginning)

4. Contracts

Duration 10 minutes

Returning to the 8 Millennium objectives the question is asked who will help us to realise them by 2015. Pupils that will help, sign a contract that they can keep.
