15 Years Cunina in the Limelight
Cunina held a pressconference in the Capitole in Ghent, on the 26th of October. The object of this media gathering was to get the story of Thobeka Manqele in front of the footlights. It is the story of a 14 year old South African girl who lost both parents to aids, and for whom Cunina has fought in the last fifteen years, for Thobeka, and for all children without a future. Already 9000 children owe their future to Cunina's projects.
"Because anyone has the right to determine his own path in the future, no matter the location of their cradle." That's the message we would like to send out to the press.

Cunina has helped children for over fifteen years now in developing countries, so that they can take control of their own future. We accompany them on their way to adulthood by letting them go to school as often as possible, because that is the only way to open doors to a secure place of their own, and a profession. Cunina children grow up to be responsible adults who can take care of themselves and their surroundings.

At this point, Cunina can rely on 2000 foster parents, each contributing 25€ a month via the organization, so that their child can go to school. The past fifteen years, Cunina has enabled 9000 children to seize hold of their own future. Cunina also raises funds to finance supporting projects, and has aided its partner countries these past fifteen years for a total of 2.500.000€.

On the 3rd of December, Cunina celebrates her birthday. All night long, people will look back at fifteen years of good works, and dream out loud of a new and better future. All this parlando is alternated with the welcome music of Jo Lemaire, Tars Lootens, Jean Bosco Safari, and a suprise act. It goes without saying that the entire evening will be filled with suprises, for you, but for our guests as well. Later on, the room will be taken hostage by the best coverband in the land: Plane Vanilla. Raf Van Brussel and Vincent Goeminne swing along with guest acts such as Pop Idol Born. After all, it is a party!
A marvelous meal is provided before the festivities.
