Does my CUNINA foster child receive the foster care contribution directly in its own hands?
The children do not receive the foster care contribution directly in their own hands. A local CUNINA employee administers the contributions and checks if the money does not operate as a replacement of income but that it is exclusively used for educational ends. The foster care contribution serves in the first place the school fee and one warm meal a day. The remaining sum is used for the purchase of books, a school bag, a school uniform etc... The local CUNINA employee keep a foster care-booklet for each child in which the incomes and expenditures are noted. CUNINA foster parents can at any moment request the state of the account and check the expenditures. During some months, eg during school holidays, money might be saved for large expenses like the school fee at the start of the school year.
