What is the difference between a financial and a real adoption?

Cunina only provides the opportunity for financial adoption. This means you give a child the opportunity to go to school in his/her home country. With the exception of the aids orphans in South Africa, all CUNINA foster children do have a family with whom they live in their country. After realising that lots of children in South Africa lose their parents to the AIDS pandemic, we started a new educational support project in KwaZulu-Natal, the most affected region. The aids orphans receive housing, food, medical care and guidance. Once these basic needs are fulfilled, CUNINA starts to focus on their education. CUNINA prefers to support the children in their home country and in their familiar surroundings. We'd like to stress CUNINA isn't an adoption office.
