Projects: South Africa
Poverty and exclusion are a fact of life for the majority of the South African population. Access to a good quality of education is not always possible for children in poor rural areas. Teachers are poorly qualified and many die of AIDS every year.
Increasing numbers of children lose both parents to AIDS and are forced to fend for themselves. Education is not a priority in their battle for survival.
