Mission

Cunina is a Flemish development organization, which completely concentrates on increasing access to and the quality of primary and secondary school in the South, independent of any political, religious or social beliefs.

How?

• Cunina increases access to education for children from poor families by means of  sponsorships.
  
  
• Cunina increases the quality of education by means of educational projects.

Cunina believes in the following values:

• Development which puts the child in the centre. Children deserve extra attention because worldwide, they are still the biggest victims of poverty.
  
  
• Development which begins with the people in the South. They define their own future themselves. By means of education, children achieve skills which enabes them to contribute their part to the development of their community.
  
  
• Sustainable development. Development has to meet the needs of the present without jeopardizing the capacity of future generations to be self-supporting.
  
  
• Development with respect for cultural and national identity.
