During the first 10 years of CUNINA the recruitment of funds was done through the organisation of cultural events. Between 1990 and 2000, 46 such events were organised among which the CUNINA Christmas concert with among others Theo Mertens, the Wiener Sängerknaben, Berdien Stenberg, I Fiaminghi, the Czech Prague Singers and many more...... The income from these concerts paid for the working costs and a large part of the projects were also financed.
With the expansion of the organisation, more and more time needed to be spent on the follow-up and further extension of the projects and the foster care. The large cultural events disappeared temporarily to the background. Since the start of the regional working groups in each Flemish province, a new start was made to organise events and initiatives for the fund-raising in 2005.
